Hi, everyone!
Lots of stuff has been happening over here. Over at Healthwise (#EucaliLocally), I helped out with a promotion for sustainable activewear company LNDR, who are branching out into Australia, after previously only being based in the UK. LNDR use recycled yarn to manufacture their products. Controlling the fabric source is something I want to implement in Eucali's future, so it was inspiring to spend some time with Sarah, one of LNDR's co-founders.
On Sunday, we launched 'Eat the Patriarchy', a new collection. This design features a praying mantis and kangaroo paws, an Australian native flower, with the collection's titular phrase running along the mantis's antenna.
We have been tinkering around the website recently: we now have MONOCHROME available, which is a collection of all the Eucali illustrations without colour, for those of you who like a more neutral palette. Of course, you can get the MONOCHROME collection in all of our usual t-shirt colours as well if you don't want to abandon colour altogether. Eucali designs started out sans colour, so MONOCHROME is a throwback to the original drawings.
As always, if you have any questions or comments about Eucali or The Eucalian, you can leave us a message on the website here, or find us on Instagram. We want to hear from you, get your feedback, and have a conversation with you!
Cheers,
Morgan
#EucaliStories | Petrie the Possum in the Spotlight!
The winner of our Instagram poll was Petrie the possum! As a result, we have created an illustrated story about our favourite ringtailed possum, which you can find here: Petrie the Possum in the Spotlight!
We are really passionate about children's literature and getting children to read, so if you do read Petrie's story to the little ones in your life, please let us know what all of you thought. You can engage with us on Instagram (@eucali.au) and use the tag #EucaliStories. Also, we will be doing another poll soon (look to June's edition of The Eucalian), so be on the lookout for more Eucali stories!
For those of you who are already mates with Petrie, the 'Hello Possum' collection is right this way.

Brisbane | Upcoming event @ GOMA
Chiharu Shiota: The Soul Trembles, GOMA
This exhibition will run from the 18th of June, all the way to the 3rd of October 2023. Chiharu Shiota's work is huge and immersive, full of webby yarn threads that play with light and shadow, create shapes (impossibly dense shapes, at times) and connect objects together.
Shiota was born in Osaka, Japan, and resides in Berlin, Germany, but she also spent a year studying in Australia at the Canberra School of Art. This is the largest solo exhibition of her work and is organised by the Queensland Art Gallery and Mori Art Museum, Tokyo.
