The Ukrainian Crisis Appeal is a collaboration between the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO), Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) and Caritas Ukraine.

The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and a symbol of the Ukrainian resistance to the invasion by Russia. The specific blue and yellow of the background is borrowed from the Ukrainian flag. Here, the Tasmanian devil represents a warrior spirit, a protective feeling, and a ferocious nature, so it's a symbol or gesture of fraternity or solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
