It's about ideology and human rights: support equal rights for all sexes! It's about fighting the system and the structure of society, and the fight isn't over yet.

The female praying mantis eats the head of the male after copulation, which has been attributed to ensuring her survival and that of her young. However, this isn't as common as once thought, with only an estimated 28% of males being cannibalised after finishing their business.

Here are some more sobering figures: 17% of women and 4.3% of men have experienced at least 1 sexual assault since the age of 15. We should all be feminists.
